Taylor’s professional background is in merchandising, buying and design, but in 2015, God led Taylor to begin considering a whole new way of life, with missions as the focus.
Taylor will be serving in Thomazeau, Haiti, with LiveBeyond. His ministry will focus primarily on Johnny’s Kids, a program that provides medical care, physical and occupational therapy, meals, education and the love of Christ to at-risk kids with mental and physical disabilities. LiveBeyond is initiating a change in local culture and hopes that all children with handicaps will be prized, loved and valued.
Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, and satanic voodoo worship is common. Thomazeau is a very rural area without a lot of infrastructure. The majority of the people living there are poor and uneducated. In Haiti, people with mental and physical disabilities are often called “Cocobai,” Haitian Creole for "worthless."
