We do not take lightly the call we believe God has placed on our staff to shepherd our people and push back darkness. Therefore, we require our employees to agree with The Village Church’s Expectations of Membership, Statement of Faith, and commit to exhibit a lifestyle that is consistent with the same. Likewise, we are committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our children and adults in our ministry programs. We take all forms of abuse seriously. As a part of that commitment, we have preventative measures in place to safeguard each child, as well as those who serve them. These preventative measures include awareness training, skillful screening processes, policies and procedures, background checks, and monitoring and oversight to help us maintain compliance and accountability for abuse prevention. TVC Residency Program

The Village Church Residency Program is a one-year program that exists to discover, develop, and deploy the next generation of spiritual leaders. It is a developmental experience that is meant to offer significant hands-on ministry experience and mentorship by church leaders in our departments.

Our Residency program will run from August 3, 2027 through July 29, 2028. Each resident will individually support raise for their one-year salary (and benefits if needed). Our partnering organization, Reliant, will provide each resident with in-depth training and coaching for support raising.

Each of our departments listed have availability for a resident. In the application process, candidates will be asked which departments they feel called to work under.

Why a Support-Raised Residency?

In the Western church, nearly all church staff are supported by charitable giving, either through the church’s budget or individual support-raising. Both types of support are needed and uniquely used in raising up the next generation of spiritual leaders.

TVC views support-raising as a strategic, missional, and ministerially beneficial way to mobilize Residents for ministry in our local context and beyond. Residents who individually support-raise their salary enable The Village Church to discover, develop, and deploy the next generation of spiritual leaders on a larger scale than we can through the traditional budget alone.

We believe that support-raising comes with both benefits and challenges for those raising to become Residents. We hope that it provides the opportunity for the Resident to not only become well-funded for ministry at TVC, but also to experience the character and faith-building endeavor of trusting the Lord for His provision and asking the body of Christ to participate in ministry with them. And after the residency, each Resident now has a team of people who are invested and supportive in their ministry’s future.

Reliant, our partnering organization, provides the necessary training and coaching to equip each resident in their support-raising journey. They rely on over 35 years of experience, equipping thousands in support-based ministry, and a deep passion for seeing God use support-raising in the lives of support-raisers, giving partners, and the Church.

Leadership Ministry Residencies:

The Leadership Ministry Internship Program exists to discover, develop, and deploy the next generation of spiritual leaders. We help emerging leaders discover their heart and talent and actively develop those gifts for transformational leadership in the church, non-profits, and the marketplae.

Residents are embedded with the local church staff for 25 hours of work per week for 10 months, receiving spiritual mentorship, theological training, and equipping for transformational leadership in their various life domains.

Through our relationship with Southern Seminary and Dallas Theological Seminary, interns can receive seminary course credit by participating in the seminary track of our nine-month Training Program.

FAQ

Residents begin together on August 16, 2022, and end on May 31, 2023.
Yes, residents are paid. Residents will receive $1,000 per month.
The total time commitment is 25 hours weekly, Sundays–Thursdays.
All residents have the opportunity to choose the seminary track of the Training Program. The seminary track is not required and does not count toward the 25 weekly hours. The Training Program seminary track currently provides residents the ability to earn 21 core hours of seminary credit to transfer directly to Southern Seminary or Dallas Theological Seminary upon completion.
The seminary hours cannot be transferred outside of Southern Seminary or Dallas Theological Seminary.
Keeping a full-time job during the Leadership Ministry Residency at The Village would not be feasible. The majority of hours necessary for each position require residents to work in our offices throughout the week to gain experience and mentorship.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer medical benefits for residents.
If you choose to relocate to the DFW area for the Leadership Ministry Residency, you will be responsible for any moving expenses.
No, The Village does not assist international candidates in obtaining work visas.
