Life Story
I grew up in Florida in a loving, Christian home. I have fond memories of my childhood church. In 4th grade, I attended an overnight church camp and, during worship, walked up to the stage and asked Jesus into my heart. I don’t recall my church having a youth program, and as I entered my teen years, church became more of a habit. I lost sight of the importance of my faith as I prioritized social activities and sports. After my freshman year of high school, my family moved from Florida to Oklahoma. Looking back, I can see God’s hand in it all, but it was a huge transition for me, and I struggled to adjust.
It wasn’t until later in college, when I began to attend student worship night, that I re-engaged in my relationship with the Lord. Once again, through worship, He captivated my heart. After graduating from The University of Oklahoma, I started my career as an elementary school teacher and met my husband, David. We settled in Flower Mound, Texas, and began attending The Village Church in 2009. We joined a homegroup, and it was in this intimate setting and through our deep conversations that I began to truly understand what it meant to live for Christ.
We became members of TVC in 2011 and stayed plugged into the church community through our home group, Recovery, and Bible studies. We have three children who have grown up in Little Village and Kids Village, and I am in awe of how intentional the TVC Kids Ministry is. It is my joy to now be a part of the TVC Childcare Team.
Hope for The Village Church
I hope we continue to be a place where families come and feel encouraged, build strong individual and family foundations in faith, and find great fellowship. I hope that children look back fondly on the memories they make in Kids Ministry and how it shapes their walk with the Lord.
