Life Story

Raised in a Christian home in the Rochester, New York area, it was as a 4th grader at a Christian Service Brigade meeting when I responded to a gospel presentation and accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and Lord.

I attended Wheaton College (a Christian college outside of Chicago) and grew significantly in my faith and in my walk with the Lord. I also engaged in off-campus ministry service, and while there, met and fell in love with my now wife, Mary Ann, whom I married following our graduation. After several moves, we landed in Amherst, New York, where I attended and graduated from law school. I engaged in a general law practice for many years before we moved to the Dallas area in August 2021.

Over the years, I have been involved in various ministries, and been active in the local church in a number of capacities, including adult Bible class teacher, leader of various church boards, elder, and Home Group leader. In 1999, I felt the Lord calling me into more active ministry, and after much prayer and conversations with my then Pastor, I was hired as a part-time Pastor of Discipleship at my church. In that role, I did many things, from Bible teaching and discipleship training, to outreach ministry efforts, small group ministry, church prayer emphasis, leading Sunday morning and evening and special services, preaching on occasion, and planning and leading an annual Discipleship Emphasis Month. I was later involved in the planning and implementation of a church plant in a neighboring community and served as one of the pastors at the new church until we moved to Texas. Outside the church, I also served on the Boards of several para-church ministry organizations, including Kingdom Bound Ministries as Board Chair for 19 years.

In all, God has been at work in my life to make me more like Jesus, and it has been my joy to serve Him. One of the greatest aspects of His work in me has been the gift of my sweet wife of 54 years. Mary Ann is my best friend, helper, supporter, confidant, encourager, comforter, and my one great love. God continues to use her to make me a better, more mature person and Christ follower God has graced us with 3 beautiful children and 8 grandchildren, and now in Texas, He faithfully continues to grow and lead us, especially as we have entered into the life of The Village Church where we are blessed and have opportunities to serve.

Hope for The Village Church

I hope and pray that TVC will increasingly shine the beacon of the gospel and extend the kingdom of God into the Flower Mound and DFW community and around the globe, that our love for and our serving one another, and our love for all our neighbors near and far will saturate and energize all we do, and that as individual TVC members, we will constantly grow deeper in our relationship with our Father, submit more fully to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and continually hear and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.
