Life Story

I was raised behind the Pine Curtain in East Texas by parents who had me in church twice on Sundays and once on Wednesday nights. The church felt like a second home.

My dad was an elder, and my best friend was the pastor’s son. I cherish those early memories of Jesus’ love in that small congregation. At 9, walked the aisle for baptism, but my decision was more about duty than devotion.

As a teenager, I prioritized friends over faith, drifting into the typical youthful indiscretions. Weekends were filled with parties and reckless behavior. Despite my attempts to distance myself from God, I could still hear His still, small voice beckoning me into relationship.

Finally, in my senior year, I stopped running. I knelt beside my bed and placed my trust in Jesus, this time wholeheartedly. For nearly 35 years, I've been pursuing Jesus, striving to walk the narrow path He described. Though my journey hasn't been perfect, His love has continually encouraged me.

My walk has been marked by moments of doubt and disobedience. Yet, God's unwavering love has consistently drawn me back. His grace has lifted the shame, and His adoption has given me a true identity as His son. I am called to be a “kingdom priest,” and His love fuels my desire to fulfill that calling.

Hope for The Village Church

I pray that The Village Church will experience the depths of the Father's love and wholeheartedly embrace our calling as kingdom priests. May we carry the light of the gospel into our communities and to the world.
