I was raised in a Christian home by parents who passionately loved Jesus and consistently pointed me to Him. They were faithful to teach me the Scriptures, lovingly point out evidences of my sinful heart and direct me to the cross for salvation. At the age of 7, God spoke to my heart through a series of nightly conversations with my parents and saved me. He gave me a heart of faith and a deep love for Him.
While attending Texas A&M University, God continued to grow my love for Him and His Church. I began serving as a children’s minister at a church during the summers and felt God calling me to vocational ministry. During this time I also met my husband, and we were married in 2002.
God brought my husband and me to Highland Village First Baptist Church (now The Village Church) where we both served on staff for three years. In 2005, The Village sent us out to plant Providence Church in Little Elm, Texas. During the next five years, the Lord would bless us with two children, William and Layla.
In 2010, my children and I returned to The Village after the death of my husband. During a season of intense suffering, God was faithful to show me not only of my continual need for Him, but also of His unfailing love and provision for me.
God is continuing to write my story. He continues to show me my need for Him. He continues to lavish grace upon my sinful heart. He continues to draw me deeper into relationship with Him. And He continues to call me to love His church by serving her.
Hope for The Village Church
My hope for The Village is that we would continue to be a place where the gospel of Christ is boldly proclaimed – bringing about salvation, healing and spiritual growth amongst our people and our communities.
