Life Story

The Lord blessed me with parents who know the Lord and taught me truth found in the Scriptures. I came to know the Lord in elementary school and was baptized. My faith developed in my teenage years but focused on head knowledge and following the rules, much like the older brother in the parable of the prodigal son.

During my college years, God taught me that Christ's work on my behalf should bring about humility and that a gospel saturated life looked like confessing and repenting of sins, not hiding my sin and building a spiritual resume. Feeling a call to ministry, I prepared for seminary. But God had different plans.

I had met my wife Shannon in high school, and we began dating in college. We married in 2007 and, feeling the weight of student debt and providing for my wife, I began a career in financial services. God has since shown me that He has gifted me to glorify Him through a business vocation.

Shannon and I have two boys, Harrison and Davis. God has called us to serve the fatherless through foster care, and we prayerfully hope to adopt.

Hope for The Village Church

My hope for The Village is that God would make us a people who embrace our weaknesses, find our identity and strength in Christ’s work on the cross and, out of an overflow of joy, pursue reconciliation in the relationships and spheres of life, work and culture that God has placed us in.
