Pastoral Care

We believe an authentic church should strive to meet individual needs through relationships with others in community. You can develop relationships with others through home groups, support groups, and other connection opportunities. When additional care is required, our pastoral care ministry exists to meet the emotional and spiritual needs of Village attendees in unique life circumstances. The following services are available:

Biblical Counseling

We walk in partnership with two outstanding ministries who offer biblical counseling for those seeking healing, freedom, and wisdom:

  • The Center for Christian Counseling (C3) offers counseling services for all age groups and every conceivable problem that involves human difficulties. God's Word has an answer for every problem that life has to offer. Specialties include depression, anxiety, anger, addictions of all kinds, marriage and family issues. The Center also hosts Men's Sexual Addiction groups off-campus. C3 offers a wide variety of extremely qualified counselors and staff. Daytime, evening, and weekend appointments are available. For more information, visit the The Center for Christian Counseling (C3) online or call 469.635.2200.
  • Living Hope Ministries offers hope and healing to persons seeking freedom from homosexuality and lesbianism. In a world where homosexuality is either unconditionally accepted or condemned as a sin greater than all others, Living Hope presents an alternative. While holding to God's biblical standards for sexuality, they offer the power of God's forgiveness and grace to heal the deep pain of homosexual struggles. For more information, visit Living Hope Ministries online.

The Village Church offers support groups for a variety of issues facing our membership. Current support groups include:

  • Recovery At The Village, a God-centered recovery program that addresses many of our hurts, hang-ups and habits. By working through Biblical principles and applying them to our lives, we experience lives changed through the healing power of Jesus Christ.
  • Hopeful Hearts, ministry to women who are experiencing infertility or who have experienced the loss of a baby. Please join us to share, encourage, mourn and persistently seek God’s will through your personal journey of infertility.
  • Grace Abounds, a ministry for men and women dealing with the aftermath of abortion. This is a safe place to begin sifting through those emotions of guilt and shame and embrace God’s grace, healing, and restoration in your life.
  • Grief Recovery, encouragement for those dealing with suffering of all kinds. Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the South Portable.

For more information about support groups, please visit the small group portion of our web site.

Financial Assistance

The Village Church assists covenant members who are experiencing financial hardship. Fund distribution is made on a case-by-case basis pending a pastoral consultation. If you are in need, please contact Joe Ader, our Local Missions Pastor or by calling 972.539.7899 ext. 245.

Weddings

To book a wedding at The Village, please contact Deedra Pace. Due to our current worship schedule and available facilities, The Village Church can only accommodate Friday evening weddings with Thursday evening rehearsals. We can no longer accommodate receptions on campus. Also, our worship center no longer has a center aisle.

To request a pastor for your wedding, please download our Pastor Request Form, then send it to Lauren Williams.

Premarital Counseling

If you are engaged or planning on getting engaged and interested in getting Premarital Counseling then please contact the Premarital Counseling Ministry five to six months prior to your wedding date. With such a high demand for PMC, the six-month period prior to the wedding is necessary to get each couple paired up with a lay counselor and through the program. When there is a waiting list for available counselors couples will be assigned mentors on a first-come-first-served basis and one of the engaged couples must currently be a covenant member.

All couples requesting a pastor from The Village Church to perform their ceremony are required to complete premarital counseling. Couples can be counseled through the church's PMC. The course covers the workbook, "Before You Say I Do," highlighting topics such as the biblical basis for marriage, the man's and woman's roles in marriage, in-laws, communication, finance, and sex in marriage. Each engaged couple is matched up with a married couple, meeting for eight sessions. Mentoring couples love Christ and have a growing, Christ-centered marriage, but are not professional counselors. The couple will also go through a series of CDs and suggested help books that will help prepare them for the marriage. Cost is $50, for materials only.

To schedule mentoring, contact Terri Pearce.

If a mentoring couple is not available, couples can contact the Center for Christian Counseling. A completion letter must be sent to the church prior to the wedding date.
